Theatre is our way of continuing to play even as adults , for this reason our shows for children and those for adults are not too different from each other.
In both cases we seek poetry, magic, emotion and meaning . We believe in a theatre that creates beauty . The beauty of all the things that cost effort but have meaning. The beauty of the balance between opposites : crying and laughter, rationality and emotion, lightness and depth, torment and pleasure, unconsciousness and reflection, anger and relief, pessimism and hope, questions and answers. We believe in a popular theatre , accessible to all, even those who do not speak Italian, of understanding that is not taken for granted but facilitated by an immediate emotional impact. We believe in a theatre that gives voice to our values , through content, aesthetic and methodological choices that reflect our professionalism combined with a strong humanity. We believe in a choral and democratic theatre , where everyone is used to thinking about the group and where the group enhances the potential of each. We believe in a theatre where the body is sovereign . Rehearsing in an empty space, it is the body that replaces everything that is not there, that evokes necessary objects, that asks for the holds to hang from or anchor oneself to, from which to launch oneself. As in life, it is almost always the body that knows what is needed. We believe in a theatre that can transform our vision of things . A body can change appearance, posture, identity, an object can change its function, come back to life in another form. We believe in an essential theatre , attentive to sustainability in economic and energy terms. For us, a show is a self-sufficient microcosm, coherent and harmonious, poor, with a low environmental impact. We believe in a theatre that disobeys fashions , the forced trends of the contemporary and that seeks authenticity. We believe in a theatre that looks with admiration and fascination at our heritage of the past, but that becomes the bearer of new values and new methodologies to bring innovation to traditional genres . We consider ourselves artisans of the theatre , we do things according to principles of other times: a poor theatre, made of bodies and stories, tailor-made for the participants.
We believe that actors and directors are first and foremost human beings who address human beings, in a relationship of mutual respect, consideration and care. We believe that the pursuit of happiness, or the full flowering of the human being, is the basis of the health of the individual and the community. For some years we have undertaken a path
called Pedagogy of Joy with which we work on texts, contents and expressive languages that release vital energy and speak straight to the heart. Like alchemists we look for gold. Our gold is emotion , enchantment, amazement. New thoughts. We try to open a passage in the spectator. Place a seed in his soul.
